Entrepreneurship Labs: Four Reasons to Sign Up…and How to Choose Which Lab is for You

The idea for Entrepreneurship Labs emerged from inquiries that reflect family members' curiosity, creativity, and interests. The Labs are intended as a source of inspiration and encouragement during times of transition. Even people on a professional 'track' or with a clear purpose in mind find themselves at a crossroads from time to time. Each Lab will be offered on two separate dates.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP LAB A | "I started a business and need help to grow it"

You have an idea that may have commercial or social impact.

You have an idea that will change the world--or at least a little piece of it. Join Bill Reedy and George Gendron in Lab A. These two veterans of start-ups, successful buyouts, and high-profile social ventures will help you nudge that idea into a financially viable enterprise.

Dates: Sunday, January 21 at 3:00 pm CT

ENTREPRENEURSHIP LAB B | "I am a creative and have an idea"

You have something to say, show, create or demonstrate.

Meet with innovation specialists Louise Sandhaus, a professor at CalArts in California, and John Bielenberg, a nationally recognized graphic designer and 'think wrong' expert. They help people find their voice and shape projects with purpose and impact. If you have an itch to create but do not know what, this Lab is for you.

Dates: Tuesday, January 30 at 6:00 pm CT or Sunday, February 11 at 3:00 pm CT

ENTREPRENEURSHIP LAB C | "I am in transition and ready to explore the 'what next' of my life"

There's a shift in the wind, and you want to reimagine your future.

Consider this Lab if you see change ahead. (College graduation, empty nest, job change, or general restlessness for the 'what next of your life.) Life is about the journey, and just when you think you've arrived at a station in life, the train takes off, and a new station is up ahead. Meet with Joline Godfrey and Ellen Perry to explore and map out possible futures and what is next.

Dates: Tuesday, February 27 at 6:00 pm CT or Sunday, March 10 at 3:00 pm CT

You have NO idea what next for you | All of the Above!

Hang out in all three labs and see what appeals to you. Sometimes, life feels like wandering in the wilderness. There's nothing wrong with these periods--which can last for months, sometimes years. It's the nature of change and transition, and you are gaining life experience that still needs to be channeled. Getting the 'spark' that brings purpose to your life requires exposure to unfamiliar ideas, strange paths, and uncomfortable possibilities.
